Summer Research Fellowship for International Students

Global Talent Attraction Program:

An undergraduate research program for high-achieving international students.

Are you interested in research? Have you considered going to graduate school in the United States? If so, consider applying for the Global Talent Attraction Program, an international summer research fellowship.

GTAP Scholars can spend a summer conducting research with faculty from the Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering—a top technology and information school.

The fellowship includes:

  • A $4,000 stipend (you arrange your travel and transportation)
  • Mentoring by SICE faculty and graduate students
  • Social events with other participants
  • Opportunities to learn about Luddy graduate programs
  • A whole summer to explore Indiana University Bloomington and our wonderful small city of Bloomington

Eligibility and requirements

To be eligible for the fellowship, you must:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited university outside the United States
  • Be available to participate in the fellowship for eight to ten weeks between May and September
  • Submit all application materials by the deadline

You are expected to participate in the fellowship full time. You may not enroll in classes, enroll in other summer programs happening at the same time, or hold other employment.

Participants arrange their own travel to and from IU.

The deadline to apply for the 2019 fellowship was December 15, 2018.
